Helana Indiero-Sarcone,76, of Toms River, NJ died on Sunday, March 7, 2021, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Helana was born in Jersey City, NJ, and lived in Bloomfield, NJ before moving to Toms River, NJ in 1974.
She graduated from Georgian Court University, where she received her Master’s Degree in Education. Helana taught science for the Freehold Regional High School District for more than 25 years and loved her students as if they were her own.
Helana knew how to live life and have fun. She lived off the land, having planted a wonderful garden with the best Jersey beefsteak, and would go fishing, clamming and water skiing on her boat, which she drove. She was a strong and independent woman that could do it all.
Helana was predeceased by her father William Nickerson and her husband Anthony Sarcone.
Surviving are her daughters Helana Hunley of Phoenix, AZ, and Rachael Leight of Manalapan, NJ; her mother Gloria Glover of Toms River, NJ; her siblings John Glover and Teena Grant and her four grandchildren Brittney, Jayden, Robert, and Dylan.
