Hector G. Martinez 54 formerly of Grant County passed away peacefully Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces surrounded by his loving family.
He was born January 24, 1962 in Silver City to Abran and Mary Martinez. He worked as a ranch hand and handy man. He enjoyed listening to music, playing the guitar, riding horses, spending time outdoors and camping with his family.
He is survived by his companion Cindy Merez of Las Cruces, his parents Abran and Mary Martinez of Las Cruces, his sons; Hector Jr. (Tabitha) Martinez and Gabriel Martinez of Santa Clara, Adam Martinez of Las Cruces, Daniel Martinez and Diego Martinez of Silver City, his daughter Angelica Padilla of Hurley, his brothers Abe Martinez and Raul Martinez of Las Cruces and Tim Martinez (Carol) of El Paso, Texas and sister Irma Maez (Joe) of Las Cruces, his grandchildren Dejhaila, Elias, Robert and Carlos Martinez and Michael Torrez, and his ex-wife Delmera Martinez of Silver City and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Juan and Petra Gonzalez, paternal grandparents Juan and Simona Martinez and special aunt Rosa Gonzalez.
