On Friday August 6, 2021 our beloved Hector Manuel Deynes Nieves passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was born on June 14, 1949 in Moca, Puerto Rico where he lived most of his life before moving to New York in the 70’s where worked as a taxi driver. He then moved to Connecticut where he began his career as a machinest in Brand Rex and then at United Abrasive in Willimantic Ct. where he stayed until he retired after 26 years. He made many friends in his his 72 yrs of life. All of which became family. He was always ready to help and lend a hand to anyone in need. Especially to his grandchildren who he loved very very much. Although we were not his biological children he still loved and cared for us unconditionally. He is predeceased by his parents mother Maria Luisa Nieves Perez and father Manuel Deynes Nieves. His loving common law wife Ines Rolon. His step-sons Rafael Vargas Jr., Santos Rolon, Fernando Esparra, and Jorge L. Bonilla. His step-daughters Tonika Esparra, Nancy Rolon, Migdalia Bonilla, and Luz Neida Bonilla. His siblings Brunilda Oyola and her husband Angel, Haydee Deynes, Nelly Deynes, Alfredo Deynes, Jose Deynes, Orlando Deynes, and Roberto Deynes. His 17 step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Also many cousins and nieces and nephews. He will always be remembered as someone who everyone could count on for anything. Even if he didn’t know what he was doing. You were both going to learn together. He loved the outdoors, fixing cars with his stepson and step-grandchildren. He loved to cook especially outside on the grill. He loved to travel to his home Puerto Rico where he would enjoy time with his brothers, sisters, and neices and nephews. He always kept to his roots from his home island bringing home live chickens, rabbits, and even a goat once. You always had to watch out when you opened the freezer because you never knew when the random pigs head would be in there. He was an amazing man with the purest soul. He will be greatly missed by everyone who had the good fortune of meeting him. Que Dios lo tenga en su gloria hoy, mañana, y siempre. Nunca te olvidaremos. No le decimos un “adios” solo un “hasta luego”.
