Obituary
WATSONTOWN — Heather L. Persun, 30 of Persun Lane, Watsontown, went to be with the Lord Friday morning, March 21, 2008 at Kramm Health and Rehabilitation Center, Watsontown where she had resided the past few weeks.
Born June 23, 1977 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, she was the daughter of Charles Kenneth and Gloria J. (Lenig) Persun.
Heather was a 1997 graduate of Warrior Run High School.
She attended the UCP, Sunbury; was a volunteer at the Montgomery House Library, McEwensville and a volunteer and rider at the EOS Therapeutic Riding Stables in Buckhorn for many years.
A member of the Spina Bifida Association of Greater PA, she had attended Camp Spifida, Millville, for a week every summer for more than 10 years. She attended the former Bell Telephone Pioneers sports jamboree weekends at Indiantown Gap, and Wesley Forest Church camp many summers. She attended AMPES of Milton; was a member of The Arc of Northumberland County and ARP of Lewisburg.
A life-time member of the Girl Scouts, she attained the highest award in Girl Scouting, the Gold Award. An active member of Watsontown United Methodist Church, she sang in the Intergenerational choir, attended Bible Study and Sunday School there.
Surviving beside her parents with whom she lived, is her maternal grandmother, Dorothy Lenig of Sunbury.
Friends are invited to call at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway Street, Turbotville from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 9 PM Monday.
A graveside committal service will be held at 9:30 AM Tuesday at Twin Hills Memorial Park, old Route 220 past the Lycoming Mall, Muncy.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Watsontown United Methodist Church, 11 East Third Street, Watsontown with the Rev. Douglas Eberly, her pastor, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her memory be made to either the Watsontown United Methodist Church Building Fund, PO Box 35, Watsontown, PA 17777 or the E.O.S. Therapeutic Riding, 288 Dahl Road, Bloomsburg, PA 17815, or any of the organizations mentioned above.
