Hazel R. Parks, 86 of Sandoval, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018 at Doctor’s Nursing Home in Salem. She was born November 26, 1931, daughter of Luther Winkler and Freda (Grayling) Winkler.
She married James H. Jackson and they later divorced. She married Robert E. Parks in 1972 in Las Vegas, Nevada and he survives in Sandoval. In addition to her husband of 45 years, she is also survived by two sons: Robert “Bob” D. Jackson and wife Linda of Centralia and Mike L. Jackson and wife Ranae of Jacksonville, FL; two step sons: Michael A.
Parks and wife Dawn of California and Robert Parks and wife Barbara of Michigan; six grandchildren: Valorie Pries and husband Eric of Forsyth, Jessica Goff and husband Brian of Jacksonville, FL, Jason Jackson and wife Jamie of Moberly, MO, Meredith Parks of California, Robby Parks of Michigan and Joe Parks both of Michigan; four great-grandchildren: Gia Jackson, Drew Jackson, Cameron Pries and Nicholas Pries; a brother: Shelby Winkler and wife Judy of Central City; two sisters: Marie Erwin and husband Gene of Denver, CO and Blanche Hardy of Odin; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Vernon Winkler.
Hazel was a member of Odin First Christian Church. She worked as a Lab Tech at SSM Health St. Marys Hospital for 20 plus years. She enjoyed traveling and researching her family’s genealogy with her sisters. She volunteered with Helping Hands at Gospel Lighthouse for many years. Hazel loved spending time with her family and friends.
