A native of Picayune, MS, she was a retired child daycare owner. Hazel kept care of numerous children in Picayune. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved was preceded in death by her parents, Randolph Mitchell and Mary Thigpen Mitchell; her husband, Ernest Grant, Sr.; her son, Ernest “Ernie” Grant, Jr.; and 8 brothers and to cherish her memory are her children, James “Jim” (Dorothy) Grant, Thomas Grant, Bobby Grant, and Beth Grant; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; her brother, Bob Mitchell; her sisters, Jeanne Kellar, Azoline Smith, and Verna Mae Sheppard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
