Hazel Marie Gerwick, 98, of Emlenton, died at 10:36 a.m. Wednesday February 4, 2009, at The Caring Place in Franklin following a brief illness.
Mrs. Gerwick was born in Armstrong County on June 11, 1910. She was the daughter of N. Cal and Blanche Beers Hamilton.
Mrs. Gerwick was a long time active member of Saint John Reformed Church in Emlenton, she later attended Salem Reformed United Church of Christ. She enjoyed cookie baking and quilt making.
Mrs. Gerwick was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Gerwick Sr. who died October 20, 1998. The Gerwicks had been married for seventy-one years.
Mrs. Gerwick is survived by a son, Robert Gerwick Jr.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Gerwick was proceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Ann who died in infancy, a great-great granddaughter Emily Taylor, two brothers, Frank and Wilmer Hamilton, and three sisters, Goldie Morris, Mary Jordan, and Maude Watson Doolittle.
