Hazel M. Senne, age 98, died December 14, 2018 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was born January 27, 1920, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, the daughter of Asa and Margaret (Ward) Miller. She came to Kalamazoo in 1931 with her father, who later became the first pastor of Kalamazoo First Assembly of God, where she had been a member for 70 years.
Hazel was loved by her family and those who knew her. On September 5, 1936, she married Howard Senne, who preceded her in death on June 4, 1992. Howard and Hazel owned the H & H Restaurant in Kalamazoo for 15 years. She had been a Senior Companion for the Senior Services of Southwest Michigan for 20 years.
Hazel’s family includes her children: Karen (Juan) Aguirre and Pam (Jeff) Kopp, all of Dowagiac; 9 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 34 great-great-grandchildren; her sister Ruth Baty of Indianapolis; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; her sons, Donald, David, Thomas and Michael Senne; her daughter, Maxine Ford; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Senne; her grandchildren: Robert, Gary and Nancy Ford; her brother, Ralph Miller; and her sister, Helen Scholten.
