Hazel M. Bell departed this earth January 21, 2018.  She was a lifelong resident of Colorado Springs.  She was born on August 8, 1936 at St. Francis Hospital.

Ms. Bell was preceded in death by her parents, Lucinda Bell (Bester) and Oliver Bell; her sisters, Creasie Anna Jones, Mayme Porter, and Jessie Gibson; her brother, Oliver Bell; and her beloved children, Cheryl Tilmon and Mark Taylor.

Ms. Bell spent her career in the medical field beginning as a nurse’s aide and ultimately retiring after 35 years as a registered nurse, working in hospitals throughout the state of Colorado.

Ms. Bell loved animals, especially dogs.  She had a special talent for coaxing little seedlings out of the soil, growing them full and luxuriant. She also loved to read. She would read a book a day. A fairly lucky individual, she would often take a trip up the mountain to Cripple Creek where she made many fond memories.

She is survived by her three daughters, Deborah Davis, Joyce Mack and Priscilla Ringgold; her sister-in-law, Lucy Bell; her niece, Gabrielle Bell; her nephew, Mark Bell (Sara); six grandchildren, David Tilmon, Ashanti Tilmon, Tanya Brown, Vanessa Brown (Cornell), Stephen Medina (Iyanna), and Douglas Bradshaw; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

She was confident she would live forever, and she will – in the hearts of those that loved her and in the stories about her that they will share.

Honoring the wishes of Ms.
