On July 26, 1922, in McKinney, TX, Alex and Vera Collins embraced their lovely child, Hazel Louise Collins. She was the apple of her father’s eye. In his sight, she could do no wrong. As she grew older, she proved to be a phenomenal woman.
She demonstrated by her life that she truly cares for others. She opened her life and her home to 37 foster children. In addition, she raised Betty Louise Lee (Hall) and co-raised Willie Ray Moore, Sr. At the age of 65, she went back to school and received her certification as a nursing assistant and home health aide. In her 70’s she returned to school and took computer classes. Mother Hazel Bibles’ love for people occupied a big part of her life. At the age of 80, she worked as a caregiver.
Hazel Louise Bibles, 96, passed peacefully on May 17, 2019 at Harrison Pointe Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Ogden, UT.
Hazel is survived by Willie Ray Moore, Sr. (Merry) of Fresno, CA. and Betty Louise Hall (Robert) of South Ogden, UT; four grandchildren: Willie Ray Moore, Jr. (Shanel) of Fresno, CA., Ivy Louise Moore-Jones of Fresno, CA., Kristal Hall-Boone (Cameron) of Tennessee, Raymond Clarence Hall (Amy) of Ohio and ten great grandchildren, and a host nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Also, respectfully, acknowledging her Cousin Alice of Stockton, CA. the oldest living relative. Hazel is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Melvin Collins (Francis) and her sister Ernestine Collins Brown (Liman).
