Hazel Lorine Wisz, age 86, of Wheatfield, IN passed away Sunday, January 2, 2022 at home with her family by her side.
She was born October 26, 1935 in Hammond, Indiana to Walter and Fern (Southard) Quigley. Hazel earned her Associate’s degree in nursing from Purdue University. She worked as a registered nurse at Porter Memorial Hospital for 7 years. Hazel also had experiences at other hospitals spanning a career over 20 years. She married the love of her life, Thomas Wisz on January 26, 1957 in Hessville, Indiana and he survives. Hazel was affiliated with the Trinity Presbyterian Church in DeMotte.
She was a true humanitarian and enjoyed helping others wherever she could. Hazel was a past member of the home makers extension and the women’s prayer circle in her church. She loved flower gardening and numerous craft projects including stained glass and refinishing furniture.
Hazel is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Thomas Wisz; daughters: Janice Bayless of Wheatfield, IN; Diane Wisz of Wheatfield, IN; Denice (Andy) Beckmann of Plymouth, IN; Lisa Morris of Oxford, IN; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Allan W. Quigley.
