Hazel Holaday, 98, went home with the angel on the afternoon of Wednesday, December 2, 2015 in her beloved home of 75 years that she and Dad built for us all. She was our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-ma or “Holaday”.
Hazel was born on January 28, 1917 in Meridian, Idaho to Walter and Addie McMullen. She married Leonard “Happy” Holaday on July 4, 1933. This union produced three daughters: Sharon, Shirley and Charlene; one son: Mike; 12 grandchildren; and many great and great-great-grandchildren. Our mother devoted her life to taking care of her family. She was constantly crocheting and gifting her creations to her kids and grandkids.
A few years ago, we added an addition to our family: Carolyn Washburn. Carolyn became a loving companion to our mother and a dear friend to all of us. Her devotion to mom will be forever treasured.
Our mother was blessed with good health until a few weeks ago. After a short stay in the hospital, we brought her home to enjoy her last days in the house she so dearly loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Mike and her daughter Sharon. She will be truly missed.
