Hazel Jean Myers, a resident of DeWitt, died peacefully, surrounded by family, on June 27, 2024 at Hospice House of Mid-Michigan. She was 86 years old.Hazel was born on December 23, 1937 to Hugh and Lila (Johnson) Argersinger in St. Johns, Michigan. She derived so much joy from the innocent silliness of the children she transported and she delighted in being recognized by the now grown-up children she once served.Hazel and Wendell enjoyed playing cards, camping, traveling, and profitable trips to the casino. She was extraordinarily talented quilter, creating countless masterpieces that will forever be treasured by her family and friends. She also enjoyed crocheting (her daughter and grandkids have many snowflakes!) and she made so many Christmas cookies decorated to perfection over the years. Her secret recipe and frosting will be cherished and carried on for generations.Hazel was preceded in death by Wendell, her husband of nearly sixty-seven years in 2022; a son, William; her parents; her brothers, LaVerne Gail, and sister-in-law, Jeannette Argersinger. She is survived by her son, Garry (Melanie) Myers; daughter, Rhonda (Randy) Brown; daughter-in-law, Susan Myers; grandchildren, Emily (Bryan) Harvey, Amanda, Jennifer, Nathan, Jacob, Makayla Myers and Nikki Wendy Brown; great-grandchild, Adalyn Jean Harvey; sisters, Lavone Suski, Wanda Lockwood, Sharon Pease, Sandra Price, Beverly (Raymond) Falkiewicz; brothers, Melvin (Marilyn), Richard (Judy) and Alden Argersinger, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and dear friends.
