Hazel I. Comiskey, 89 years, of Virginia, IL and formerly of Ashland and Tallula, IL died Thursday, January 10, 2008 at the Walker Nursing Home in Virginia.
She was born February 25, 1918 in Ashland, IL; the daughter of William Bill and Maude Jenkins Pettit. She married Patrick F. Pat Comiskey and he preceded in death in 1981.
She is survived by a son, Steve Comiskey of Virginia; a daughter, Virginia Jenny Bright (husband, Lowell) of Ashland; four grandchildren, Tara Davis (husband, Rodney) of Virginia, Patricia Miller (husband, Rick) of Ashland, Jennifer Illias of Chatham, and Allen Bright (wife, Melissa) of Ashland; 8 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Homer Pettit (surviving wife, Emma Lou of Petersburg) and Kenny Pettit (surviving wife, Helen of Tallula) and a sister, Helen Sherren.
Mrs. Comiskey worked in the housekeeping department at Memorial Medical Center of Springfield for 10 years. She was a long time homemaker and surrogate caring Mom for many Ashland area children.
