Hattie was born October 13, 1949 in Limestone County, Alabama to the late Deacon Arthur and Mother Hattie Collier Moore. She departed this life on November 23, 2012 in Huntsville Hospital.

 

She accepted the Lord as her Savior on August 17, 1960 at Mt. Zion CPCA. She was an active member of the church participating in choir, Sunday school, Children’s Church and many other auxiliaries.  She later accepted her calling to the ministry in 2000. She became an ordained minister and was an assistant minister at Life Changers Faith Center International, Decatur, Alabama where she served as the Youth Pastor, Praise Team Member and hosted youth events until her death. She loved God, and was a woman of great faith, and with these special gifts she led many people to Christ. 

 

She was united in marriage for twenty-nine years and to this union three children were born, she was a very loving and devoted mother and grandmother. 

 

Lorraine was a 1967 graduate of Trinity High School in Athens, Alabama.  She furthered her education receiving an Associate’s Degree from Calhoun Community College.  In 1988 she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and History from Athens State College. She continued her studies receiving a Masters of Education Degree in 1996 from Alabama A& M University.                                                      

 

She taught in Decatur City Schools for over twenty years and was well known throughout the school system. She enjoyed helping others and inspiring students to advance themselves through education. Lorraine touched the lives of countless students.  Often students would see her after they became adults and many would share their appreciation for love and encouragement.

 

She was preceded in death by her loving parents: Deacon Arthur Moore and Mother Hattie Collier Moore and her sisters Kathy Ann Moore and Bonita Eugenia Moore Evans.

 

Precious memories of her will be cherished by her children Quinton O. Fletcher(Demetrius), Daphne R. Fletcher, and Whitney A. Fletcher.  One grandson Quinton Fletcher II.  

 

Loving memories will also be cherished by her siblings Billy Moore, Joyce Moore-White, June Moore- Scruggs (James), John A.  Moore (Annie), Charles D. Moore, all of Decatur, AL Jacqueline E. Moore-McGlathery (Byron), of Harvest, AL,  Alfreda Moore-Malone, of Athens, AL,  Victoria Moore-Santiago (Edward), of Clearwater, FL  Chicquita Moore-Perry (Barry) of Birmingham, AL , Kim D. Moore (Argelia) of Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico; two aunts; Elder Johnnie Mae Grigsby and Mrs. Fannie Matthews and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
