Hattie L. Reitz, 100 years old, of Three Oaks, Michigan died Saturday evening, January 3, 2009.Mrs. Reitz was born February 3, 1908 to Schuyler and Marie L. (Spaulding) Ray in Buchanan, Michigan.
She attended Basswood School as a child and on May 4, 1929, she married Peter Reitz in Sawyer, Michigan. He preceded her in death in 1950. Mrs. Reitz had worked at the Warren Featherbone Company in Three Oaks, and later worked at the Horness Chair Company and Gerber Babywear Company. She was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Glendora.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Eleanor Reitz, grandchildren, Dale Allan (Sharon) Reitz, Judy Ann (Obie) Scoggin, and Roger (Nancy) Reitz, all of Three Oaks; 7 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Peter, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Shirley; her son, Schuyler Reitz; great granddaughter, Leigh Ann; sister, Annie Watters; and her brothers, Lawrence Ray and Floyd Ray.
