Hattie received her education in Kershaw County Public Schools, being the last graduating class of Jackson High School in 1970.

Hattie was a devoted servant of the Lord. She began her Christian journey at Zion Hill A.M.E. Zion Church serving as an usher, deaconess, missionary, and pastor’s secretary for many years.
