Harvey “Max” Shaw, 82, Anderson, died January 21, 2009 at St. Johns Health System, Anderson after an extended illness. He was born January 27, 1926 in Dundee, Indiana. He served with the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during World War II and received the Navy Unit Citation and 8 Battle Stars.
Harvey retired in 1988 from Container Corporation He was a member of Eagles Lodge #174 and the American Legion Post #127 in Anderson.
Survivors include his wife, whom he married November 28, 1942, Marguerite R. Fisher Shaw; daughters, Sandra & husband, Jim Campbell of Anderson, Terri Lynn & husband, Dannie Ritenour of Ohio and Ruth Ann & husband, Don Cobb of Edinburgh; sisters, Carol & husband, Charles Wardwel and Shalba Dee Enghrite; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Marjorie Shaw and Rita & Jack Disher; grandchildren, Niki Wells, Ashley Marie Hill, Roxanne Swain, Jeff Cobb, John Cobb, Tina Turner, Debbie Burton, Teresa Gerholt, Jim Ewald, Robin and Rochele; twenty-eight great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to St. John’s Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, Huffman & Jenney Bishop Shaw; sons, Jim Shaw and Larry Max Shaw; and brothers, Robert Eugene Shaw and Estel Shaw.
