Harvey Wendel “Uncle Harvey” Greene, 89, of Moberly, died Friday, July 10, 2020. He was born April 6 1931 in Carroll Iowa to the union of John Maxwel and Ruth Amanda (Wendel) Greene.

Harvey was a research engineer, teacher, programmer, and farmer. He attended Moberly Junior College and the University of Missouri where he studied mathematics, physics, and languages. He was a member of the honorary societies, Phi Theta Kappa, Phi Beta Kappa, Brothers of Ox, Pi Mu Epsilon, Phi Sigma Iota, and Sigma Delta Phi. He served in the Counter Intelligence Corps of the United States Army during the Korean War.

Uncle Harvey enjoyed reading and watching movies along with political and literary commentary and analysis. He loved caring for his parents and his farm.  Uncle Harvey really enjoyed the many fun times with all his nephews and nieces.

He is survived by his nephew Stephen Wendel Sasek and his wife Kathy of Madison, MO, grandnephews Stephen Scott Sasek and his wife Jeanine of O’Fallon, MO, Jason Steven Shannon and his wife Karla, and Joshua Wayne Shannon and wife Dot all of Moberly, MO; grandniece Wendy Kay Sasek Blair and her husband David of  Kernersville, NC; great grandnieces and grandnephews; Amanda Michelle Sasek Jaeger, Elizabeth Kay Blair, Brittany Ann Blair, David Michael Blair, Mackenzie Marie Sasek, Landon Scott Sasek, Devon Andrew Shannon, Lylah Rose Shannon, Isabella Kathryn Shannon, Jude Blaise Shannon; and a Great Great grandniece Scarlet Kay Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Cecelia Irene Harvey, nephews John Frank Sasek and Gayle Wayne Harley, and a grandnephew John Gregory Sasek.
