Harvey G. Liles, Age 74, of Vanceburg, Ky. Passed away Wednesday February 12, 2014 at 4:20 p.m. after an extended illness. Harvey was born in Vanceburg, Ky. March 14, 1939 to the late Joseph and Oweda Jackson Liles.
Harvey worked for the U.S. Shoe Corporation in Vanceburg, Ky. For 30 years. He also was a Kentucky Colonel appointed by Martha Lane Collins. Harvey was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 5438 Monte Lewis Stamm of Vanceburg and member of the D.A.V. Chapter 150, Member of the Amvets Chapter 27 of Bucyrus, Ohio and the Korean War Veterans Association Chapter 120 of Portsmouth, Ohio.
Harvey was a veteran of the United States Army in which he served his country in the Korean War.
Harvey was of the Christian Faith.
Preceded in death beside his parents was his wife- Lula A. Clark Liles in April 1994, one sister- Ruth Liles and 5-brothers- Wilburn Liles, Newt Liles, Dallas Liles, Ray Liles, and Harlan Glen Liles in infancy.
Surviving is a sister- Jeanette Butler of Vanceburg, Ky.
One brother- Joseph Liles Jr. of Bucyrus, Ohio
several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who will also mourn his passing.
