Harry Adam Truhn, 79, formerly of Union Pier, Michigan and LaPorte, Indiana, passed peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, March 18, 2010 at his winter home in Florida. Harry was born January 11, 1931 in Lake Township, Michigan to Harry Gustav and Bertha (Nimtz) Truhn.

He served his country in the US Marines, stationed in North Carolina. On September 25, 1954 he married Sue Cundiff in Niles, Michigan. Harry was employed by Gerwin Industries in Michigan City, Indiana for 30 years, and then worked for the River Valley School District. He loved hunting and fishing, and enjoyed playing cards, growing his purple pole beans in the garden, tinkering on lawn mowers and small engines, and working on word find puzzles.

Survivors include his wife, Sue; children, Janine Truhn of Chicago; Colonel Harry Alan (Teresa) Truhn of Bolling Air Force Base; and Brian (Marion) Truhn of Berlin, Germany; grandchildren, Sherry Styburski, Patricia Burnett, Rebecca Truhn, Nathlia Truhn and Domonic Truhn, great granddaughter, Brooke Prast, sisters, Norma Stover of Berrien Springs, Michigan, Margaret (Warren) Lutin of Niles, Michigan and Doris Shawley of Michigan City; and brothers, Edger (Florine) Truhn of Niles; Frank (Elsie) Truhn of Baroda, Michigan and his constant side kick, Jinx. He was preceded in death by his brother Ralph Truhn.
