Harry Theodore Holgerson, Jr., died peacefully at home on April 30, 2011. He was born on September 19, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Frances, and his wife and better half of 58 years, Mary.
He is survived by Edward, his brother, and his 10 children: Margaret, Thomas (Sue), Mary Anne, Kathleen (Bill), Theodore (Victoria), James (Roberta), Richard (Patty), Susan (Ray), Ellen (John), and Bridget (Mike), and 26 grandchildren.
He graduated from the University of Chicago with a Metallurgical Engineering Degree. He then attended the Naval Academy at Annapolis and graduated an Ensign and was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade. He served aboard the USS Saratoga during WWII and in 1946 married Mary Elizabeth Birnie at the Alameda Naval Air Station. He owned and operated California Airframe Parts Company for 65 years. He was a member of The One Hundred Club and the Sheriff’s Association.
