Harry (Xaralambos) Stavrides (91) of Niles, IL died after a brief illness on Monday 18 January 2016. Born September 11, 1924 in Istanbul, Turkey, he moved to Greece as a child, following the death of his father. Harry attended Athens College, where two of his brothers taught, and The Polytechnic Institute in Athens. Conscripted during the Greek Civil War, he served two tours of duty in northern Greece.
