Harry R. Gehrt, 68, of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin passed away on June 26, 2022 at his residence.
Harry was born on November 23, 1953 to his father Walter and step-mother Alice Gehrt. He worked as a boiler operator at Domtar during his working career. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War as a Machinist Mate 3rd Class.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 0322 in Wisconsin and Sons of the American Legion Squadron #0027 Detachment AZ. Harry enjoyed softball, golf, and watching his grandchildren at their events. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, and Milwaukee Brewers.
Harry is survived by his son: Christopher (Heather) Gehrt of Wisconsin Rapids; his daughter: Kelly (Chris Hafermann) Gehrt of Wisconsin Rapids; grandchildren: Alyssa Gehrt, Trevor Gehrt, and Reece Hafermann; brothers: Harold (Angela) Gehrt of Wisconsin Rapids, and Mark (Nick) Gehrt of Minneapolis, MN; sisters: Susan Deakles of Wisconsin Rapids, Sally Tuttle of Wisconsin Rapids, Marie Kangas of Wisconsin Rapids, and Linda (Dwayne)Tate of Worthing, SD; and countless friends whom he considered just like family.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Susan Gehrt; father: Walter Gehrt; step-mother: Alice Gehrt; brother: Robert Gehrt; nephew: Ryan Garnick; grandparents: Harry and Marie Gehrt.
