Harry P. Norris, son of Walter and Mary Naruszewicz, grew up on a farm in North Andover MA. He later shortened his name to Norris. Upon graduating from Johnson High School, he volunteered for military service and served in the US Army Air Forces during WWII, being assigned to the 12th Air Force, 57th Bomb Wing as a B-25 pilot and flying 96 combat missions. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross twice and the Air Medal twelve times for heroism and meritorious service in combat.
