Harry Merrill Leons, 101, of Anderson, passed away on May 19, 2016 at the Middletown Nursing & Rehab Center, Middletown. He was born on December 5, 1914 in Anderson to Harry and Orpha (Hoppes) Leons.

Harry graduated from Anderson High School in 1933, and was a 77 year member of Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge 77 F. & A.M. He also belonged to Indianapolis Valley of Scottish Rite, Eagles Lodge, and TPA.

Harry was an avid bowler for many years, and enjoyed watching all sports, and listening to music. He enjoyed walking at Aqua Gardens and Mounds Park for many years. He was very proud of his Christian faith.

He worked for Delco Remy Division of General Motors for 10 years over production inspection in Plant 10. He was manager of the Colonial Theater, was the agent for Grey Hound, ABC and Trailways Bus Lines. He was manager of MCL Cafeteria in Anderson, Harvest House in Muncie, owned and operated several restaurants and snack bars in Anderson, Chesterfield, Muncie, Marion , and Osgood, Indiana.

Harry is survived by his wife Betty Jean Leons; children, Mike Leons, Stacie (Tim) Parnell, Brenda (Brian) Hochstetler, Lori (Brad) Kennedy; step-children, Tim (Kelly) Mathis, Debbie Mathis; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great- grandchildren, one step-grandchild, one step- great- grandchild; nephew, Alan (Dana) Dresser; in laws, James (Lois) Cyphers, Estelle Sells, Earline Cyphers, Neal Ward; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Leons Sr., mother, Orpha Dresser, half brother, Dustin Dresser, daughter, Vicki Lynn Brown, son, Larry Leons, and step father, Frank Dresser. The family would like to thank Premier Hospice staff and Middletown Nursing and Rehab for all their support and loving care.
