Harry Lecher, 86, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Arbor Grove Village Nursing Home in Greensburg. Born, October 21, 1923 in Hamburg, Indiana, he was the son of Peter and Anna (Schulte) Lecher.

He was married to Clara Jane Eisert on May 31, 1952, and she preceded him in death on October 2, 1987.

Harry was a member of the United States Army and served in World War II.

Harry was a self-employed livestock trucker. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the American Legion Post 129, the Knights of Columbus, and the Eagles Lodge.

He is survived by one son; Larry (Wanda) Lecher, Greensburg, one daughter-in-law; Susan Lecher, Greensburg, 5 brothers; Bill Lecher, Greensburg, Joe Lecher, Greensburg, Ed Lecher, Greensburg, Paul Lecher, Batesville, Jim Lecher, Batesville, one sister; Ida Nobbe, Batesville, 3 granddaughters; Nyoka (Kyle) Nobbe, Natasha (Mark) Struewing, and Nickella (Brandon) Reid, and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son; Jerry Paul “Pete” Lecher, 4 brothers; Leo, George, Norbert, and Herman Lecher, and one sister; Frieda Nobbe.
