Harry K. Bowker of Burlington City, died Tuesday, January 24th, at Capital Health Systems, Fuld Campus, in Trenton, he was 68 years of age. Born in Florence, NJ, on November 19, 1943 he was the son of the late Charles and Mary Bowker. A Burlington resident for the past 48 years, Harry had worked at one time for Hercules Company and Minute Steaks in Burlington. He retired in 2004 after 28 years with P.S.E.&G. in Burlington as an electrician. A member of St. Paul’s R.C. Church, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #589, the Endeavor Emergency Squad, the Civil Air Defense of Burlington City, the Burlington City Athletic Assoc., the Burlington City Board of Education and was a lifetime member of the Burlington P.T.A.

He was the founder of Youth Wrestling in Burlington, Pop-Warner Football, “T”-Ball and Girls Softball as well as founder of the B.C.H.S. Alumni Foundation. In his spare time, Harry enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Margaret (Peggy) Bowker, who died in 1997, his brother Charles and two sisters Carol Fine and Margaret Eells.

Harry is survived by his two sons and daughters in law: Brian (Eileen) Bowker of Beach Haven, NJ, Anthony (Alicia) Bowker of Lumberton, his grandchildren: Kayle Bowker-Williams and her husband John, who is currently serving in Afghanistan in the U.S. Army, Emily Bowker, Brian Bowker, Seon Bowker, Drew Bowker, Kaitlyn Bowker, Kiley Bowker, Dane Bowker and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his sister: Patricia Stokley of Eastampton, his Godson; Jeff Meredith, and his dear companion, Cecilia Sill.
