Harry Francis Newton of Burlington Township, passed away at Samaritan Inpatient Hospice Center in Mt. Holly on Sunday at the age of 78. He served his country honorably in the US Air Force before starting his working career and family.
He worked as a truck driver for the Teamster’s Local 837 of Philadelphia. Harry belonged to the Beverly Maqueda Lodge #276 of the F&AM and Turner’s in Riverside. Harry was an avid fisherman, who also loved his camper and friends at the camp ground. He was also known as “Mr. Fix-it” and could be counted on to help things in need of repair.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Joan (Nee: Dodd) and their children: Billie Jean (Ed) Brogan, Sr., Teri Lynn (Dave) Leeds, Sr.; grandchildren: Eddie Brogan, Jr. “Boomer” (Christine), Stephanie Leeds “Snook-Emms” and fiancée BJ Greenwood, David Leeds “Little Guy”; great-grandsons: Kevin, Aidyn, his Philadelphia Crew family of nieces, nephews, cousins.
