It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Harry Shingler, 67, of Santee, South Carolina, who transitioned on Wednesday, June 07, 2023, at his residence.
HARRY SHINGLER LIFE REFLECTIONS
Harry Edward Shingler was the son of the late Louise Shingler and James Johnson. Harry was born in Washington DC on January 9, 1956.
Harry was a 1974 graduate of Roberts High School in Holly Hill, South Carolina. Harry served in the United States Army and he was stationed in Hawaii.
Harry worked with his stepfather James B. Johnson as a concrete finisher for many years. He was also the groundskeeper at Santee National Golf Course for over 10 years.
In 1981 Harry married the love of his life, Mary King from Holly Hill, South Carolina (Unity).
Harry leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 41 years, Mary Shingler of the home; three sons, Jermaine Shingler of the home, Jason (Latoria) Shingler of Santee, SC, and Andre King of Ridgeville, SC; three grandchildren, Andre McFadden, Shatara McFadden of Santee, SC, and Rasheed Keitt of Columbia, SC; two great-grandchildren, McKayla and McKenzie Keith of Columbia SC; four aunts, Vernell (Irvin) Edmunds of Santee, SC, Rubelle (Sammie) Adgerson of Washington DC, Rosa Mae Jamison King of Maryland, and Margie Shingler of Santee, SC; two uncles, Cephas McKune of Washington DC and David Bailey of Holly Hill, SC; two sisters-in-law, Deverly President and Lula King of Summerville, SC; two brothers-in-law, Clayton (Erica) King of Durham, NC and Larry (Barbara) King of Washington DC; four godchildren, Latesha Snider of Santee, SC, Gwendolyn (Corry) Middleton of Eutawville, SC, James Keitt of Santee, SC, and Garrion ‘Boo’ Snider of Cross, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
