Harry “Blake” Anderson, Cromwell, passed from this earth on November 3, 2013. Blake was born November 28, 1922, in Middletown, Connecticut, and was the loving and devoted husband of Odette (Reymander) Anderson for the 61 years. They were married on August 9, 1952, in Wethersfield, Connecticut.
Blake is also survived by his three children, Edward Blake Anderson and his wife KC, Curtis Richard Anderson and his wife Jennifer, and Heather Arrigoni and her husband Robert, seven grandchildren and one great grandson. Upon graduation from Middletown High School in 1940, Blake worked for the Aetna, prior to enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1942. He saw combat action in the Solomon Islands in the Southwest Pacific Theater. After his discharge in 1946 as a Technical Sergeant, he returned to the Aetna but later moved onto the Travelers Insurance Company, achieving executive status as Secretary. He retired from the Travelers in 1979. Blake was very active in the Town of Cromwell at various times, holding positions on the Board of Selectmen, Zoning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals and Fire Commission. He was also an active member of the VFW, serving Post 2138.
He will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched.
