Harrison R. Thornley, 75, of Springfield, IL and formerly of Ashland, IL died Wednesday evening, December 3, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
He was born June 9, 1939 in Jacksonville, the son of Richard and Nelle Robinson Thornley.
He is survived by two sisters, Barbara Koritz (husband, Gary) of Champaign and Eleanor DeMoss (husband, Jon) of Chicago; a niece, Laura Koritz of Champaign; two nephews, Matthew Koritz (wife, Sarah) of River Forest and Marc DeMoss of Chicago; two great nieces, Kathryn and Anna Koritz of River Forest; a great nephew, Benjamin Koritz of River Forest; and his friend and caretaker, Larry Ratliff of Ashland. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Harrison was a graduate of Ashland High School and the University of Illinois. He farmed in Cass and Morgan Counties for many years and formerly served on the Ashland Elevator Board of Directors. In past years, he was a member of the Illinois National Guard Band.
