Haroldine Ruth Husted Musch, 82 years, of Jacksonville, IL and formerly of rural Virginia, IL died Wednesday evening, July 19, 2006 at Modern Care Convalescent Facility in Jacksonville.
She was born February 18, 1924 in Winchester, IL; the daughter of Guy Harold and Mary Emma Treadway Husted. She married Warren Roy Musch on June 23, 1944 at Camp Pendelton, California where he was stationed with the US Marine Corps. He survives.
She is also survived by two sons, Randal L. Musch of South Jacksonville and Cordel R. Musch (wife, Jane) of Fort Worth, TX; five grandchildren, Jonathan Musch (fiance, Sara) of O’fallon, Sarah Musch of Springfield, and Carrie Musch, Cameron Musch, and Caitlin Musch, all of Fort Worth, TX; a sister, Mary Beth Manning (husband, Ross) of Roodhouse; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ann Christie Husted McDade.
Mrs. Musch attended Virginia schools and graduated from Virginia High School in 1942. She attended Stephens College in Columbia, MO and the University of Illinois and later graduated from Illinois State University in 1970 after having taught for 19 years. She retired from the Virginia school district following a teaching career that spanned 37 years from the one room Monroe School in rural Cass County to her fourth grade class at Virginia Elementary School.
A consummate hostess, she enjoyed entertaining her friends and family at her beloved Breezy Hill Farm. She was well-known for elaborate theme parties, special chicken salad, and deviled eggs. She also traveled extensively with her beloved husband throughout the United States, cruised to many ports of call, and attended numerous 5th Marine Division national reunions. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Virginia and the Daughters of the American Revolution. An avid card player, she enjoyed her duplicate bridge club.
