His parents were Jeptha & Ella Cox Wright. He married Jannette Keeton Wright on April 2, 1955 & by two days, she preceded him in death.

He was preceded in death by five sisters: Phyllis Carmony, Betty & Geneva Wright, Helen Long & Mildred Daniels. Also one brother preceded him in death, Edward Wright.
