Harold Vernon Amos, age 79, of Salem, died at 10:41 p.m., Monday, June 9, 2014 at the Salem Regional Medical Center with his family by his side. He was born January 18, 1935 in Lisbon, son of the late Wilbert and Lois (Shive) Amos. Harold was a Salem High School graduate and graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree. He was owner and president of Amos Communications, formerly Salem Color Press before retiring in 2007. He was a member of the St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Sebring and served in the U.S. Army during peace time with the Printing Corps. He enjoyed woodworking and loved spending time with family and friends. His wife, Lauretta (Vietmeier) Amos, whom he married June 17, 1961, survives him, along with two sons, Mark (Karin) Amos of Centerville, Ohio and Brian (Jennifer) Amos of Salem; two brothers, Wayne (Sharon) Amos of Vandalia, Ohio and Paul (Helen) Amos of Salem; and two grandchildren, Madeline Amos and Allison Amos. A sister, Carol Brandt preceded him in death.
