Harold Sonny Mains of Mora passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at his home at the age of 96.
Harold Peter Mains was born July 9, 1926 to Peter and Margaret (Schnoor) Mains in Rossburg, Minnesota.
From 1944 to 1946, Sonny served in the United States Army in WWII. In September 1947, he was united in marriage to Kathryn Martin. Together they had 6 children.
Sonny enjoyed traveling the United States, motorcycles, fishing, hunting and going to casinos.
Sonny is survived by his children Daniel Rusty (Rena) Mains of Dalbo, Mary (Bob) Byron of Mora, Sandra Stock of Ogilvie, Mike (Sheila) Mains of Isanti, Sue (Mike) Nelson of Mora, Tawn (Todd Smith) Mains of Ogilvie; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sisters Ella Baumgartner of Wahkon, Linda Vanrissegham of Hastings; brother Pete Mains of Onamia.
He was preceded in death by his parents Peter and Margaret Mains; wife Kathryn Mains; grandchildren Harold Byron, Kathryn Byron; son-in-law Leonard Stock; siblings Clarence, Annie, Helen, Betty, Leonard, Harry, Marion and Dicky.
