Mr. Harold Mitchell Jr. was born June 26, 1935, to the late Harold Mitchell, Sr. and Lillie Edwards Mitchell in Quincy, Florida. A resident of High Point for the past 15 years, and retiree from High Point Housing Authority. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Ronnie Mitchell.
Surviving relatives include his loving wife, Barbara J. Mitchell of the home; sons, Raynell (Tara) Hawthorne of Greensboro, Horace Mitchell, Michael Mitchell, and Tony Mitchell, all of Newark, New Jersey, Wayne Mitchell of New York, Melvin Mitchell and Rickey Mitchell of Quincy, Florida; two daughters, Gwen Mitchell of New York, and Sharon Mitchell of Quincy, Florida; two brothers, John (Carol) Mitchell of Iselin, New Jersey, and Edgar Mitchell of Newark, New Jersey; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and very special friends, Julius and Alice Hairston.
