Hal passed away Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the Carriage House of Bay City at the age of 87 years. He was born on May 14, 1932 in Bay City to the late Lawrence and Rose (Hugo) Conley. Hal proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1952-1954 and was honorably discharged. On September 13, 1952 he married Noreen A. Gunther at Holy Trinity Catholic Church and spent 59 years together until her passing on July 15, 2012. He lovingly took care of Noreen in her later years while battling Multiple Sclerosis. Hal worked and retired from the Michigan Department of Transportation after 38 years. He was very proud of his strong Irish heritage and enjoyed the Irish sing alongs at his sisters kitchen table. Hal was a sports enthusiast enjoying all Detroit sports, coaching, managing and umpiring South West Little League and watching his children and grandchildren play sports. He was known as being soft spoken, enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, horseshoe player, a good dancer and a big runner.
Hal is survived by his children, Kaylynn (Richard) Olszowy, Michael Conley, Keven (Paul) Pfenninger, Laurie (Jeff) Hamme and Mark (Sue) Conley; grandchildren, Ryan (Nikki) Olszowy, Jeremy (Sarah) Olszowy, Michael (Noelle) Conley, Karina (Josh Fellows) Conley, Lance (Sarah) Pfenninger, Craig (Kristel) Pfenninger, Lisa Pfenninger, Todd (Teresa) Pfenninger, Kristie (Aaron) Leahy, Brandi (Jay) Kuhn, Gina (Wayne) Sevilla, Noah Conley and Kailie Conley; twenty one great grandchildren and one on the way and brother, Gary Conley. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Audrey Campau and daughter-in-law, Lynn Conley.
