Harold Joseph Rojec (Hal) of Aurora, Colorado passed away on October 12, 2022, at the age of 87. Loving dad, grandpa (Papa), and great-grandpa, Hal was preceded in death by his wife Hidegarde Rojec in 2005. Hal is survived by his children: Vicki (Alan), Mark (Patti), and Sherri (Greg). Hal also had 9 grandchildren (Emma, Joe, Jeff, Brett, Stewart, Molly, Sam, Eric, and Luke) and 1 great-granddaughter (Heather).

Hal was born in 1934 to Stella and Joseph Rojec in Cleveland, Ohio. After graduation in 1952 from John Adams High School Hal attended Case Institute of Technology (now Case Western Reserve University) in Cleveland. He worked full time, while attending college, as an electrical tester for Perfection Stove 
Company and for the Army Signal Corps testing prototype engine generators.

Hal graduated in 1957 with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and started his career at Hughes Aircraft Company.  As part of his work with Hughes Aircraft, Hal worked at US Air Force bases in Alaska, Oregon, California, and Colorado, assigned to Hughes projects in conjunction with the Air Force.  He 
received Certificates of Honor from the commanders of the bases in Alaska and Portland for his work on fighter communications and weapons systems. Another highlight of his career was his work on Surveyor, a NASA program Hughes was part of that landed seven robotic spacecraft on the moon from June 1966 through January 1968.  Hal retired from Hughes in 1993.

Hal enjoyed reading, music, photography, and volunteering with several non-profit organizations. Hal and his wife, Hildegarde, traveled extensively while she was alive. The family has chosen to have a private memorial in the summer.
