Mr. Haycook was born in Paterson, New Jersey to Herbert and Wilhemina Williams Haycook. He married his beloved wife of 67 years, Helen, and together they raised 3 children. A very hardworking man, Mr. Haycook built aircraft at night during WWII at Wright Aeronautical, Haledon, New Jersey, while striving to build his own business, Harold’s Moving and Storage by day. He retired at the age of 50 and purchased two homes, one in Naples, Florida and the other in Barnegate Light, New Jersey. Only recently did he and his wife move to New Smyrna Beach to be near their sons. Mr. Haycook was an avid golfer who enjoyed fishing and billiards, as well as tinkering in his workshop.
He will be missed by his surviving family, including his wife Helen; 2 sons, Dennis and Harold, both of New Smyrna Beach; 1 daughter, Helene Len of Fort Myers;7 grandchildren, Heidi Livingston of Winter Springs, Kristin Lutz of Port Orange, Harold Haycook III OF Riverdale, New Jersey, Helene Melione of Wayne, New Jersey, James Len Jr. of Hackensack, New Jersey, Jacquelin Len of North Haledon, New Jersey, Susan Saffioti of Seaside Heights,New Jersey, 14 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and his Parrot, Perky. He was preceded in death by his great grandson, Jared Lutz.
