HAROLD OLIVER DURHAM

07/25/1974 – 10/05/2016
“A LIFE WELL LIVED”

A long time ago, in a city far, far away… …

On July 25th, 1974 a son who would soon be known as Harry was born to Roy A. Durham and Shana Durham (Roylance) in Walnut Creek, California. His Sisters Janetta M. Killough (Kevin Killough Sr.), Michelle Ortega, and Brother Harold “Grant” Hart (Jeanne Hart), Sister in law Olivia Kilfoyle, Brother in law Allen Cox, Cousin James A. Durham who was more like a brother and Harold’s sisters and brothers by choice, “Wookie” Matthew G. Marsh (Susan Marsh), Kryssi Heitman and Marykaye Mummert all loved him dearly.

As a padawan himself, Harold lived in California for most of his younger years. The force was strong with Harold, he loved fixing things, boat racing and horses. He would soon go on to graduate from Yolo High School in 1992.

After high school, things were about to change for Harold when in May of 1999, he welcomed a youngling and son, Andrew W. Durham.

In March of 2003, Harold met the love of his life, Brooke A. Slaton and on the 16th of October, 2004 she would take him as her husband and be known from that day forward as Mrs. Brooke A. Durham. They began their journey in Ogden, Utah. Brooke would bring her two daughters, Kaylee S. Saunders and Mariah M. Saunders into their new family as they united as one that day.

Harold and Brooke went on to love their three children together and enjoyed many camp trips, fishing trips and parties together. Harold enjoyed coaching sports for his children alongside his wife. He also took great joy in his long poker nights, backyard barbeques, wildlife and rock concerts.

In June 2007, they celebrated in the birth of a new daughter, Shania R. Durham and in August of 2009 they welcomed another daughter, Baylie B. Durham into their loving home. Their family was complete for a time, until they were blessed by the Jedi Council with a son, Sylis M. Cox. Now with 6 young Jedi in training, they were surely complete. The younglings were raised well and grew to make their Father and Mother proud. Harold loved playing with his children and building things such as playhouses to create a happy life for them.

The Durham family was a blessed one and because of Harold’s unwavering love and hard work, they had what many families wish for, a home, a yard full of fun and two parents who loved them to Tatooine and back.

During his career at Marketstar, Fusion Imaging and Kimberly Clark, Harold gained new friends who became much like a second family. They mentored Harold, looked up to him and admired him. Harold’s wife was always grateful to know that he had so much support when he was away working for his family.

Harold was strong, he was a fighter, he fought for what was right and what was good, on October 5th, Harold may have lost his battle but he finally found the peace he was searching for. And on this day, all who knew him, would be forever changed. For the light of love and happiness that Harold bestowed upon his family and friends had burnt out. He is greatly missed until we meet again. For Harold has gone to reunite with his Mother, Shana Durham, Grandparents, Roy O. Durham, Janetta Roylance, Harold Roylance, Mother and Father in law, Michelle Kilfoyle (DMIL) and Vern Kilfoyle (Pa), Nephew Damon Marsh, Uncle Jeff Durham and so many others who passed far before we were ready to say goodbye.

Harold was a wonderful Father, Husband, Brother, Son, and Friend. We were blessed with the time we were given with him.

May the Force be with him.
