Harold Guy Wooters, 88, of Odin passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. Guy was born September 5, 1926, in Odin Township, the son of Harold Olin Wooters and Sarah Frances (Deadmond) Wooters.

He married Bobby Jo Fant on April 9, 1944 in Arkansas.

In addition to his wife of 70 years, he is also survived by three sons: John Wooters and wife Barb of Marshall, Roy Wooters and wife Patsy of Suffern, NY and Tim Wooters and friend Donna Hudson of Temple, PA; a daughter, Patti “P Wili” Williams and husband Randy of Centralia; five grandchildren: Mary Lynn Kessler, Linda Howard, Leroy Wooters and wife Donna, Wendy Adams and husband Jim and Angela Jo Wooters; five great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Linda Wooters of Denton, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Bessie Mildred Wooters.

Guy served in the U.S. Army during WWII in Japan as a cook. He worked for Mothers Bakery, as a truck driver for Ridgeway Soda, Max Davis Printing in Mt. Vernon, the Salem Times Commoner, Centralia Sentinel, Champaign Urbana Courier in Urbana, IL, he and his wife owned and operated the weekly paper in Tolono, IL, and the Mattoon Journal Gazette 1966-1976. He and his family moved back to Odin before his retirement from Swan Corp. in 1988. He enjoyed playing his steel guitar and played in Country bands when he lived in Mattoon. He most of all loved spending time with his family and friends.
