Harold Glenn Robbins, 86 of Centralia, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 20, 1929 in Beardstown, Illinois, son of Howard David Robbins and Pearl (Jones) Robbins. Harold married Peggy Shannon on December 18, 1948 and she preceded him in death on July 1, 1996. He then married Phyllis Phelps White on February 15, 1997 and she survives in Centralia.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by four children: Victoria Clark and Ronald of Carterville, Nick Robbins and wife Karrie of Centralia, Gale Robbins and significant other Brian Yarbrough of Centralia, and Marsha Edler and husband Dwayne of Centralia; two step-sons, Dave White and wife Joan of Centralia and Perry White and wife Tammy of Centralia; ten grandchildren, Heather Jones and husband Steve of Cortland, NY, Heath Clark and wife Keri of Goreville, IL, Kyle Clark and wife Nicole of Marion, IL Nicole D’Angelo and husband Paul of Wolcott, CT, Jarrod Robbins and wife Keri of Orlando, FL, Tim Robbins of Centralia, Justin Arnold of Chicago, IL, Mallory Toennies and husband Toby of Metamora, IL, Amber Moore and husband Nick of Shannon, IL, Shannon Edler of Centralia; three step-grandchildren, Jesse White and significant other Kari of Central City, Emily White and significant other Dan of Florissant, MO, and Sabrina White of Centralia; great-grandchildren: Taylor Clark , Cailin Jones, Hayden Jones, Cillian Clark, Aurora Clark, Gabrellia D’Angelo, Ethan Robbins, Dylan Robbins, Preston Robbins, Brooklyn Robbins, Lucas Toennies; two step great grandchildren: Elijah Greenburg and Mason White; two brothers and a sister: Larry Robbins and special friend Gladys Holder of Metropolis, IL, Sandy (Robbins) Stuber and husband Ernie of Centralia and Don Robbins and wife Dianne of Centralia; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy (Shannon) Robbins, his parents, two brothers: Melvin Robbins and Burle Robbins and a sister, Verna Robbins Trieglaff. Glenn was a member of the First Apostolic Church of Centralia. He worked for Burlington-Northern Railroad for 41 years. He enjoyed traveling, mowing grass with his John Deere mower, spending time outside tending to the yard work, playing cards, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brothers and sister.
