Harold George, Jr., 86, of Bethlehem, passed away, Monday, April 20, 2015, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. He was the husband for 47 years to Phyllis M. (McLandless) George and to the late Violet (Brunner) George, who died in 1965. Born in Tamaqua, he was the son of the late Harold C. Sr. and Hilda M. (Rice) George. Harold served his country in Germany in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a Meat Cutter and Manager at Keppels Market, Food Fair and Pantry Pride for many years until retiring. Harold was Past Master of Bethlehem Lodge #283 F&AM and active in the Boy Scouts as a Leader of Troop #318. He was a member and former sexton, Choir member, Sunday School Teacher and President of Church Council at Rosemont Lutheran Church. Survivors: surviving with his wife, Phyllis are daughters, Diane M. Dologite and her husband Gary of Bethlehem, Christina D. Wignovich and her husband, Christopher of Bethlehem Twp., a son, David H. George and his wife, Trish of Irvine, CA; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. A brother, Robert C. George died earlier.
