Harold Frederick Norman, 86, of Churubusco, passed away unexpectedly at 10:53 p.m., on December 17, 2020, at Parkview Regional Medical Center.

Born in Lapaz, on October 10, 1934, to the late John and Marjorie (Fouts) Norman.  He spent his formative years in Roann, graduating from Roann High School in 1952. After high school, he graduated from Manchester College in 1956. He then received his master’s degree from Ball State in 1960.

Harold retired from Smith-Green Community Schools in 1998, after 42 years of teaching. As a teacher he was very dedicated to his students and spent time pouring in them his love for the arts.

He was a member of the Churubusco United Methodist Church. He was a past chair of missions and volunteered in their food bank. He was a member of the Indiana State Retired Teachers Association and volunteered at the Community Harvest Food Bank. He was a founder of the Turtle Town Players. He served on the Churubusco Public Library Board and the Whitley County Community Foundation Board.

Harold is survived by his daughter, Andrea (John, Jr.) Henry; his son, Tony Norman; his brother, Robert Dale Norman; three nieces, Denise (Steve) Holland, Dawn (Tom) Hess and Danette (Tom) Till; seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; his beloved kitty, Stella Marie.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Peggy Norman.
