SMITHFIELD-Harold Leo Forsythe, 75, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 5, 2011. He lived in Smithfield but was formerly of Durham, and of the Baptist Faith. He was the son of the late Oliver and Geraldine Happell. Mr. Forsythe served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years, 8 years with IBM in RTP and retired after 12 years with the U.S. Postal Service in Carolina Beach. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Allen Forsythe, two sons, Michael Guin (Wife) Mary, Chip Forsythe (Wife) Shannon, one grandson, Michael J. Guin, two granddaughters, Lindsey M. Jameson and Elizabeth G. Forsythe, two great-grandsons, Brendon Guin and Owen Jameson.
