Harold F. “Bussie” Huffman, 98, formerly of the Freelandville area, passed onto another life on September 5, 2013 at 2:35 AM at the Lutheran Community Home in Seymour, IN. He was born August 8, 1915 near Bicknell, IN the son of William J. & Eva J. Rouse Huffman.

He was the youngest of six children. He was a member of the 1933 graduating class of Bicknell High School, he started his college career at Vincennes University, Indiana Business College and upon graduation, and he attended Indiana University. He was employed at the Sunshine Mine in Bicknell and Alison Engineering Company of Indianapolis, IN. In August of 1941 he married Marjorie Wampler and the made their life together until her death in February of 1983.

He served his country during WW II from October of 1942 as a B-29 mechanic in the China Burma India Theater. Upon his discharge from service, he returned to Bicknell and started a career in farming. Harold loved the farm and the great outdoors, held memberships at Bethel Church of Freelandville, the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years, the Lions Club of Sandborn, IN and an associate member of the Retired Teachers Assn. He married Ruth L. Allen in February of 1984 and they made their life together for over 29 years.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth L. Allen Cullison Huffman, Seymour, IN, his son, William Cullison, and his wife Gloria of Seymour, IN, his grandchildren, Amy Koch, and her husband John, William L. Cullison Jr. and his wife Karin, John Ashcraft, and his wife Amy and Jennifer Ashcraft. Six great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews also survive him. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Marjorie Wampler Huffman, his parents, his brothers, Miles “Bud’ Huffman & William “Honas” Huffman, his sisters, Beatrice Irvin, Lucille “Tynt” Burd and Gertrude Huffman in infancy.
