Harold P. Edwards, 89, of O’Fallon, Ill., born April 11, 1917 in Barberton, Ohio, died Thursday, December 7, 2006 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, Ill. Mr. Edwards was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and was instrumental with Our World Day Care and the O’Fallon Food Pantry. Mr. Edwards spent 40 years in the service. He served our country, beginning in the Army Air Corp, retiring from the US Air Force as a Major in 1963 and civil service, retiring in 1983.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul & Helen, nee Christopher, Edwards. Harold is survived by his wife Lillian, nee Saurer, Edwards of O’Fallon, 4 children; Harold Jr. (Judy) Edwards of Opelika, Alabama, Linda (Robert) Pribble of Belleville, Ill., John (Laura) Edwards of Huntington Beach, Cali., Dawn (Gary) Largent of Mascoutah, Ill., 2 sisters; Barbara Yakus of Barberton, Ohio, Patty (Roy) Gadfield of Orrville, Ohio, 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
