Mr. Shelton, who died Sunday, November 20, 2022, at Lawrence Medical Center, was born February 12, 1937, to Howard and Oline Shelton. He was a devoted husband to Peggy for almost 62 years. He was a loving son, brother, father, and grandfather. He worked at Delphi from 1978, until his retirement in 2002. Prior to that he and his brother, Joe, owned a barber shop in Madison, Alabama. He spent much of his retirement traveling across the country from Niagara Falls to the Grand Canyon. He loved traveling with James and Carolyn Gillespie. Throughout his life he supported his children and grandchildren in all their activities. Prior to his failing health, he loved to visit with friends at Hardees, McDonalds, and Subway. He was a car enthusiast, a lawn care expert, and a man of many skills. He was funny, loving, and a beloved friend. He was always willing to share a helping hand to his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Joe Shelton and Hillard Shelton
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Shelton; three sons, Keith Shelton (Lavonnia), Scott Shelton (Lynne), and Todd Shelton (Angie); sister, Jennifer Sharp; five grandchildren, Allie Shelton (Pete Sloane), Connor Shelton, Reagan Parker (Dylan), Cameron Fossett (Benjamin), and Jacob Shelton; and one great-grandchild, Cotton Parker.
