Harold E. Confer, 86, of Montoursville, formerly of the 1600 block of West Fourth Street, went to be with his Lord, Thursday, December 23, 2010, at The Gatehouse Hospice following a brief illness.

Harold retired from Textron in February 1985 after 42 years, was an Army veteran of World War II, an active member of Central Baptist Church, delivered Meals on Wheels for over 21 years and enjoyed woodworking.

Born June 7, 1924 in Williamsport, he was the son of Harry and Sue McCarty Confer.

Surviving are his sons, Ernest L. (LeeAnn) Confer of Ashboro, N.C. and Lenny P. (Debra) Confer of Montoursville; a brother, John L. (Mary) Confer of Williamsport; grandchildren, Kimberly, Justin, Derek, Kyle, Kelsey, David and Timothy; and a great granddaughter, Sydney.

Harold was predeceased by his wife, the former Eleanor M. Page, who died November 2, 1988.
